Green Infrastructure
Suitable Alternative Natural Green Space (SANG)
Suitable Alternative Natural Greenspace (SANG) refers to designated green spaces intended to mitigate the recreational pressure on European-designated sites including Special Protection Areas (SPAs) and Special Areas of Conservation (SACs). SANGs were introduced under the requirements of the Habitats Regulations 2017 to ensure that new developments do not adversely affect protected sites due to increased recreational use.
We are a Bath based consultancy covering the south west and rest of UK
We have extensive expertise in SANG assessment and delivery, covering the full lifecycle from ecological impact assessments to site selection, design, management, and monitoring. This makes us well-placed to support developers and local authorities in mitigating the impact of new housing developments on protected habitats.
