PROW condition assessment
Public Rights of Way (PROW) are a vital part of healthy and sustainable communities, providing safe access and connecting our urban areas with the surrounding countryside, open spaces, and community facilities. They provide opportunities for sustainable transport; recreation; connection with nature and provide corridors for wildlife.
Ethos is experienced in undertaking PROW condition assessments for local authorities.
This includes mixed use rights of way such as footpaths, bridleways, and cycle paths. Alongside undertaking the field surveys, we can provide bespoke analysis to meet client needs, for example, prioritisation improvements by measurable criteria and costing recommendations.
Surveys are set up to meet each client’s specific requirements and utilise the ESRI Collector app and Survey 123. The Surveys are designed to collect data accurately and efficiently through the use of pre specified drop downs. We are able to record the path surfacing and condition using polylines, and any associated infrastructure e.g. bins, benches, signages and their condition, using point data. The surveys also capture geolocated photographs, and the results can be analysed in a number of ways e.g. by section, or key issues.
